Dear Educator,
Are you finding yourself frustrated with certain students over and over? Or sometimes feeling overwhelmed by the classroom as a whole? Does it seem all resources have been exhausted, yet you still need more? I can help.
Teachers are often tasked with the impossible and then required to do more. In my experience, the “do more” may come with initial training (or not) yet more individual support may be needed - not just with curriculum, but also with feelings of overwhelm that come with “one more thing.” I can help.
After 20 years of experience in education including teaching middle school English, high school counseling, and being an active parent with elementary aged children, I’m convinced that teachers, just like parents and students, benefit from not just social and emotional support, but also a felt sense of safety within their environment. Students in a classroom are learning how to regulate their own feelings and emotions trying to navigate their childhood within different situations - school included. Sometimes, this can manifest with dysregulated students, which can also trigger feelings of overwhelm for you as the teacher. I can help as you transform your classroom into a regulated space - for you and for your students.
I combine Polyvagel Theory, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and my experience as a trainer for programs in mentorship and as a trainer in The Regulated Classroom to tailor to the specific needs of teachers in individual and small group settings. Each six-week coaching period will include 1:1 therapeutic mentoring and coaching specific to your needs as a human and an educator as well as tools for self/co-regulation for immediate implementation within your classroom, plus receive ongoing support throughout our time together. As we work together, you will get the benefit of collaboration, therapeutic coaching, and individual attention with your specific situation(s).
Contact me to set up a complimentary call if you are an educator looking to enhance your ability to regulate your mind, body, and emotions - remaining engaged and present throughout challenging circumstances. I can help you learn to embrace your felt sense of safety providing the same for your students. Let’s get started!
