Teachers are often tasked with the impossible and then required to do more.
After 20 years of experience in education, school counseling, and being an active parent with elementary aged children, I’m convinced that teachers, just like parents and students, benefit from not just social and emotional support, but also a felt sense of safety within their environment and within their own bodies. My philosophy is that children in a classroom are not behaviors to be managed, rather they are children learning how to regulate their own feelings and emotions trying to navigate their childhood within different situations - school included.
I’m here to offer support for educators. If you’re finding yourself frustrated with certain students over and over, or feeling overwhelmed but the classroom as a whole sometimes, I would love to help. Instead of sending students outside of the classroom, I can help to transform your classroom into a regulated space - not just for students but for teachers as well.
I combine Polyvagel Theory, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and my experience as a trainer in The Regulated Classroom to tailor the specific needs of teachers.
Contact me if you are an educator looking to enhance your ability to regulate your mind, body, and emotions - remaining engaged, present, and embrace your felt sense of safety to provide the same for your students through co-regulation. I offer 6-week sessions and will walk the journey with you providing support along the way. Feel free to invite a few teacher friends to make the process even more cost effective.
If you are a teacher and looking to enhance your ability to remain engaged, present, and embrace a felt sense of safety, I can help you get started.
